Jinjun WANG is the laboratory director of Fertility Clinic at Jiahui Health. Jinjun graduated from Shandong First Medical University with the Medicine Degree in 2002. In 2005, he got his Scientific Master’s Degree in the field of Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) where he researched gene editing and protein creation from the Institute of Laser Life Science at South China Normal University in Guangzhou. While he was observing at Shenzhen Hospital of Beijing University IVF unit in 2005, he discovered his passion in IVF and embryology. He started his first IVF training there and went on to work as embryologist at Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital in Shandong. While he was working at General Navy Hospital in 2007, he completed a systematic training in embryology from Sydney IVF. After working and training in several hospitals in China and Kuwait, he came to UK and worked as an embryologist at London Women’s Clinic (LWC) in 2008.
Jinjun Wang had been working at London women’s Clinic (LWC) for 12 years. After joining them, initially he worked as Clinical Embryologist and in 2009 he became Senior Embryologist. In 2010, he registered as Clinical Scientist in Embryology with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in UK. In 2011 he became the Deputy Lab Director and in 2013 he started to work as Lab Director. In 2015, Jinjun Wang led the LWC laboratory team to successfully merge with the laboratory team of another center in London, The Bridge Centre. He became the Laboratory Director of two IVF clinics. Jinjun Wang was also in charge of the training program for embryologists from LWC’s other two sub-clinics located in Darlington and Cardiff.
Jinjun Wang studied blastocyst biopsy and vitrification technology from Dagan Well laboratory, Oxford in 2009. In the same year, he cooperated with Dagan Well Laboratory as the Principal in Charge to carry out egg and embryo biopsy for pre-implantation genetic screening program in London, including blastocyst stage, cleavage stage and polar body biopsy. Jinjun Wang established embryo vitrification platform in 2009, and successfully achieved the transition from slow freezing to rapid freezing in the laboratory. In the field of egg freezing, Jinjun Wang led his team to make the first attempt at egg vitrification in 2009. After 10 years of development and continuous exploration, Jinjun Wang has made a lot of improvements to the original egg freezing technology. He has now established his own unique, very stable egg freezing technology with the high success rate. Because of his great success in egg freezing, LWC started to set up London Egg Bank, the UK’s first and currently the larges t egg bank in the UK, in 2013. Since 2016, the team led by Jinjun Wang has performed the larges t number of egg freezing cycles in the UK every year. Jinjun Wang established the most advanced technology for uninterrupted real-time monitoring of blastocyst culture after fertilization and introduced the latest embryo real-time monitoring incubator Embryoscope. Jinjun Wang has also developed a system for blastocyst culture and single blastocyst transfer for all IVF cycles regardless of the number of eggs obtained or the age, which minimizes the risk of multiple pregnancy in IVF.
During his tenure in the UK, Jinjun Wang trained a group of excellent embryologists. These embryologists are currently working in many countries and regions, such as the United Kingdom, Spain, Australia, New Zealand and so on.
