The Department of Thoracic Surgery at Shanghai Jiahui International Hospital is committed to providing patients with advanced medical services, including the prevention, early comprehensive diagnosis, and surgical treatment for thoracic disorders.
The Department provides high-quality surgical healthcare for patients, founded on the principles of safety, effectiveness, minimally invasive approaches, rapid recovery, and personalized diagnosis and treatment.Advanced equipment
• Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS):
In some cases, lesions located outside the trachea or bronchus cannot be detected by conventional fiberoptic bronchoscopy. An endobronchial ultrasound can identify the specific location of extra-bronchial lesions, while a color Doppler allows for the avoidance of blood vessels. This allows for highly accurate biopsies for disease diagnosis.
• Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS):
This is a minimally invasive surgical technique used to diagnose and treat chest problems. During the procedure, the surgeon inserts a tiny camera and surgical tools into the chest cavity through small incisions in the chest wall, using the video as a guide during the procedure. Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery is typically less painful, has fewer complications, and has a shorter recovery time than open surgery.
• CT scans:
Jiahui Health is equipped with dual-source CT scanners to allow for efficient medical imaging, high-quality images, as well as low doses of radiation. This provides accurate and reliable evidence to enable precision medicine.
• Gastrointestinal dynamics system inspection equipment:
Typical symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease include heartburn, acid regurgitation, chest pain, belching, etc. In addition, reflux can damage other tissues and organs, which can cause foreign body sensation in the throat, chronic cough, asthma, etc., and can lead to complications such as reflux esophagitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, peptic stricture, Barrett's esophagus, and cancer.
Gastroscopies can only serve as an auxiliary diagnostic tool but are unable to determine a diagnosis in isolation. The gastrointestinal dynamics system inspection equipment used by the Department of Thoracic Surgery can better assist in the diagnosis of certain gastrointestinal disorders, observe treatment success, improve clinical diagnosis rates, and inform more targeted treatment approaches. This includes esophageal pressure measurements, 24-hour esophageal pH monitoring, 24-hour esophageal impedance monitoring, and other examination methods.
• Pulmonary function testing equipment:
Jiahui’s Pulmonary Function Room is equipped with a variety of pulmonary function testing equipment, including respiratory flow testing, intrapulmonary gas exchange testing, respiratory dynamic testing, exercise cardiopulmonary function testing, etc. This enables the diagnosis of dyspnea (i.e., difficulty breathing), coughing, wheezing, and airway obstructions. It also allows for the evaluation of the severity and progress of lung diseases, surgical tolerance, and preoperative risk assessment thereby enhancing patient safety. If you have more questions, please scan the QR code below.• Tracheal and esophageal disorders: Tracheal stenosis, tracheoesophageal fistula, esophageal reflux, etc.
• Lung disorders: Pulmonary nodules, bullae, pneumothorax, etc.
