Jiahui’s Department of Emergency Medicine is constituted by an international team of licensed and well-trained emergency medicine physicians and nurses. They are highly skilled in providing timely diagnosis and treatment of various emergent medical conditions, such as headache, faint, loss of consciousness, pain, edema, difficult breathing, cough, vomit, diarrhea, bloody stool, abnormal urination, vaginal bleeding, injuries, etc. The Department is equipped with 17 single consulting rooms in which short-term observation and fluid infusion can be provided. Additionally, if required, emergency consultation can be promptly provided by our specialists from other medical departments, and surgical procedure and/or hospital admission can also be arranged as needed. Relying on the sound relationship with a number of local tertiary public hospitals, patients treated at Jiahui Emergency Department can be conveniently transferred to the public hospitals for further assessment and treatment.
● Treat pediatric illnesses including fever, asthma exacerbations, croup, ear infections pharyngitis, abdominal pain.
● Diagnose and treat surgical emergency such as appendicitis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, intussusception, and diverticulitis.
● Treat most injuries in both adults and children including laceration repairs
● Diagnose, stabilize, and treat all emergency situations and arrange specialist consultation as needed. When necessary, such as with heart attacks and acute strokes , transfer via our green channel to an appropriate hospital.
● Evaluate and treat obstetrical emergencies.
● Manage all kind of animal bites and exposures. The Emergency Department now has a fully licensed Rabies Prevention Clinic open 24 hours a day. We also can do pre-exposure rabies vaccination.

Abdominal Pain The Emergency Department is equipped with 17 private treatment rooms. Additionally, we have 2 state of the art resuscitation rooms for critically ill patients. CT scan, MRI, and ultrasound are available 24 hours. If required, emergency consultation can be promptly provided by our specialists from other medical and surgical departments in JIH. When necessary, hospital admissions and surgical procedures can be swiftly facilitated.

Dr. Zhang obtained his medical degree from the Capital Medical University in China in 2000. He completed his residency training and worked as an emergency physician at a public hospital in Beijing. During the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Dr. Zhang provided medical support to athletes as a medical volunteer. In 2013 he obtained his master’s degree from the Capital Medical University.Before coming to Shanghai, Dr. Zhang had been working in Beijing from 2000. He had over 16 years of emergency experience in public and private institutions. In 2014, Dr. Zhang started working in the emergency room at an international private hospital. He completed a 3-year intensive fellowship training program there, which enabled him to practice in a more standardized and international way. He then became an attending emergency physician in 2017.Dr. Zhang is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) by American Heart Association (AHA) and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

In the capacity of Urgent Care Emergency Medicine Physician, he takes care of patients with various urgent medical emergency.

After graduating from Dalian medical university in 2005, she worked in Shanghai Oriental hospital. She completed her clinical rotations including cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, anesthesiology, electrocardiogram which laid a solid foundation for clinical work. She has worked in the department of Emergency Medicine of Shanghai Oriental Hospital for more than 10 years. Dr. Zhang is familiar with the diagnosis, identification, and treatment of various major acute and chronic diseases in internal medicine and surgery. In 2013, she also completed her postgraduate studies in Tongji University.
Prior to joining Jiahui, Dr. Zhang has accumulated additional experience working in a high-end private medical facility in Shanghai.

He has worked as a tutor in the Department of Medical Physiology and coordinator of the department of integrated clinical skill of Nepal Medical College for two years, teaching undergraduate and graduate students. He was awarded a full scholarship from the China Scholarship Council to study for a master's degree, training at the Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, affiliated to Tongji University for 3 years. Dr. Pudasaini is experienced in the treatment of chronic respiratory diseases, acute and chronic infectious diseases, sports physiology and cardiopulmonary circulation. He has credit to more than 30 academic papers, including case reports as the first or contributing author. Prior to joining JIH, Dr. Pudasaini worked in another Shanghai based high-end private medical institution for 4 years, accumulating experience in private medical practice.

He obtained his medical degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and later worked in Changhai Hospital (Affiliated to Second Military Medical University). Since 2015, he served as a physician in emergency ICU in Xinhua Hospital (Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine). He contributed to several books related to emergency specialty and published 8 core journals in both Chinese and English. He has many years of clinical front-line work experience and has accumulated vast professional proficiency in ICU and emergency care. Dr. Niu is particularly skilled in diagnostic and therapeutic techniques including tracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, central venous catheterization, hemodynamic monitoring, continuous renal replacement therapy etc.
Dr. Niu holds American Heart Association (AHA) Certificates in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as well as International Certificate in Trauma Life Support, and a U.S. National Certificate in Disaster Life Support.
