Fatty liver disease, referred as fatty liver, is a clinicopathological syndrome characterized by excessive accumulation of fat in liver cells and steatosis. With the global prevalence of obesity and related metabolic syndrome, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease has now become a significant cause of chronic liver disease. The prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in China is around 32.9% (1, 2). People with obesity, type 2 diabetes and hyperlipidemia are high-risk groups for fatty liver. People with fatty liver disease needs regular follow-up, and active treatment if necessary, because fatty liver may progress to steatohepatitis, fatty liver fibrosis, liver cirrhosis, and even liver cancer.
Most of alcoholic fatty liver disease can be reversed after abstaining from alcohol, while the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease has always been a clinically perplexing question. The treatment theory of creating an energy gap developed according to the traditional model, which is the theory of energy conservation, has been questioned because of its extremely low cure rate, and the painful "eat less and move more" model cannot be reversed for a long run. The newly emerged carbohydrate insulin theory has sprung up, the treatment of fatty liver has reached a new stage and has become a disease that is expected to be reversed and cured.Jiahui Fatty Liver Disease Clinic is led by Jiahui Gastroenterology Fatty Liver Disease physician, in collaboration with Jiahui Endocrinology, Nutrition, Psychology, and other departments for multidisciplinary consultation. Relying on Jiahui’s comprehensive laboratory tests, imaging system, to provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment services for patients with alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty liver through clinical and pathological examinations, and to provide patients with cutting-edge customized diagnosis and treatment plans, including multidisciplinary treatment of metabolic syndrome centered on fatty liver and diet optimization, lifestyle guidance, sleep and psychotherapy.
