Dr. LI Xinxiang is currently the chief surgeon and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Colorectal Surgery, Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center. He is the chairman of Gastrointestinal Tumor Laparoscopy Professional Committee of Shanghai Anticancer Association; Deputy Chairman of the CSCO Cancer Minimally Invasive Surgery Expert Committee; Author of CSCO Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Colorectal Cancer; Vice Chairman of the Colorectal Cancer Integrated Rehabilitation Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association. He is a well-known surgical expert in colorectal cancer in China. Won the sixth "National Famous Doctor" honorary title.

Dr. LI Xinxiang was engaged in clinical work and research at the Cleveland Clinic Florida Minimally Invasive Surgery Center in the United States. After returning to China, he took the lead in successfully performing tens of thousands of laparoscopic colorectal operations at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center. The annual operation of nodular tumors is more than 1,000 cases. Especially specialising in the clinical treatment of rectal cancer. As the first completed adult research result, "Optimization and promotion of the management mode of Rectal cancer surgical treatment" won the second prize of the 2018 (17th) Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award, the third prize of the 2019 China Medical Science and Technology Award, and the second prize of the 2022 China Anti-Cancer Association Science and Technology Award. The clinical research results also won the 2009 International Young Investigator Award of the American College of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgeons, and was invited to participate in the completion of the Clinical Application of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Guidelines (SAGES MANUAL). As the first person in charge, he undertook 3 projects under the National Natural Science Foundation and obtained 2 invention patents and 2 utility model patents. In the past 5 years, he has been the corresponding author in the Journal of Clinical Investigation, Journal of Extracellular Vesicles, Journal of Hematology & Oncology, International Journal of Surgery, Cancer Communications, Biochimica Et Biophysica Acta-reviews On Cancer, Journal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research, Experimental Hematology & Oncology, Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery and Chinese Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, with a total impact factor of more than 300 points, and the highest impact factor of a single paper was 23.168 points. He is the guest editor of the international journals Journal of Clinical Medicine and Journal of Cancer Metastasis and Treatment , and the executive editorial board member of the special issue of Cancer Medicine in Medical Reference Journal. He edited 4 monographs, translated 2 monographs and participated in editing 3 monographs. He led the compilation of the Chinese Expert Consensus on radical resection of rectal cancer with Left Colonic artery Preserved.
